Court proceedings started!

Well, I've started Court proceedings against the removals company who destroyed my property when I moved back to the UK last November. They have until 4pm on the 10th of May to respond. Fingers crossed!

This wouldn't have been possible without the help from many of you, my friends who donated the money to enable me to pay the court fees.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I was actually really surprised at the value of some of my graphic novels. It didn't occur to me back in the 80s that I was buying first editions! Some of these are now very valuable. One of them comes in at a whopping £2983!!

Whether I will get compensation or not, who knows! But I will keep you updated.

Well, the defendant has declined to answer the notice of court proceedings to defend themselves, so I have escalated the case and asked the court to make a a County Court judgement against them.
I now have to wait another 10 days.
Will keep you posted.

I hope you win. Ian, and, more importantly, they pay up.

Hi all.
I just received a letter from the court saying that the judgement is in my favour because the defendant did not reply to the claim form.
He actually replied a day after the deadline, which was particularly stupid of him!
I'm not celebrating yet as I'm sure he will do some sort of appeal if that is possible.
But you never know! :-)

Good ol' deadlines (never thought I'd say that, having spent a lifetime cussing and missing them).

There's a good chance that "rules is rules" and he won't be allowed to appeal. I hope so.

That would be nice! It was a particularly stupid rule to break!
